Enigma MMX (The Social Song) Video

Today, March 17, 2011 marks the culmination of an amazing social effort. The music project Enigma, its mastermind Michael Cretu and thousands of fans from all over the globe created a song together and an official video. The song was named “MMX (The Social Song).

With today’s release of the video, the final step was taken and I do hope that there will be more to come from Enigma team and fans. Now it is time to lay back, relax and savor the results from this incredible trip.

Enigma’s Social Song – This Time A Video Contest

After a successful 20th anniversary celebration with the fans, Enigma is launching a second event in continuation with the previous one. Based  on the MMX (The Social Song), Enigma and its mastermind Michael Cretu will continue their social effort with the creation of a video for the track.

Enigma fans are invited to submit their proposal at www.enigmasocialsong.com. So if you are one of those video talented individuals, go ahead and woo the fans! All you need to do is to oblige the requirements mentioned on the web page. Submissions will be accepted up until February 11, 2011. After that and upon Michael’s selection of Top 10 submitted videos, everyone will get the chance to vote and choose the official one that will represent the MMX (The Social Song).

On February 28, 2011 the winner should be announced and Enigma’s social song will have its official visual presentation – a user-generated video. Yay!

Enigma’s Social Song Is Out

After three months of collaboration with the fans Enigma’s social song  “MMX (Social Song)” is out. And it is not only the song, but also a user-generated cover and a digital booklet. That particular booklet, features the names of every Enigmatic that wanted their name to be published in it. Pretty cool, ah? So go ahead and download it for yourself here!

Thousands of people have already downloaded the song and there are more to do so. In fact, the interest was so strong that when the song was released online last night at 6 pm (CET), the servers crashed. The team however made sure that this is not going to sour the celebration and swiftly manage to return traffic to normal within 15 minutes. And as it turned out, there is no stopping those Enigma fans!

As a true social event, everyone can download the song for free. All that Enigma team is asking is to pay with a tweet or Facebook status, so everyone in their social graph will know that Enigma and fans are celebrating.

ENIGMA’s “MMX (THE SOCIAL SONG)” RELEASED

20 years after the first release “MCMXC a.D.”, sales of more than 50 million records and 60 #1 chart positions worldwide, Enigma is back with an interactive anniversary celebration: On December 15, 2010 the musical project will be releasing the single “MMX (The Social Song)” created together with fans through their three months online collaboration.

In 3 steps users actively participated in the creation of a song. They sent in original vocal tracks, decided on musical styles, created covers, voted and commented. Along the course of events, Enigma’s mastermind Michael Cretu allowed people to look behind the curtain by recording several video messages from his studio.

“The Social Song idea started as an experiment and it turned out to become a great and successful journey, which brought many Enigma fans and music lovers together. There hasn’t been anything comparable in the music industry – namely being so social to the core. I really enjoyed this experience.” Cretu says. People watched more than 1,000,000 times the videos, listened to samples, casted votes, posted, commented or simply visited the event website www.EnigmaSocialSong.com …

The final song will be accompanied by a user-generated cover, as well as a digital booklet giving credit to those who actively participated. Following the social idea, everyone has the chance to download the song for a symbolic price of only a tweet or a Facebook post!

“This was just the beginning…” Michael sums up, “there will be more collaboration projects coming in the near future.” Updates will be published on Enigma’s official website www.EnigmaSpace.com and on different social networks channels at Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and Ping!

Enigma’s Social Song Stage II

Enigma’s Social Song Stage II has started today. There are already 250 votes and counting – only 6 hours after the 3 musical version Michael Cretu has created were released.

In this second stage, the fans will have the opportunity to choose from the 3 different outcomes based on the winning vocal of Fox Lima. there is a chill out version, a ballad one and one with a more energetic setting. Visit the voting page here!

Enigma’s Social Song Stage I Concluded

Last week on Monday, November 2, 2010 was the day that voting for the best vocal submission on Enigma’s Social Song contest ended. There has been great turn up full of passion, novelty and high spirit. People from virtually every continent (except the scientists further down South) were either singing of giving their preferences on what they like best. And one can only hope that the next two stages will attract just as much joy and participation.
